Phellinus of some sort, there are a bunch of them. Common name around here is hoof fungus.
Part of a tree trunk. The visible barn is scattered with teal and yellow lichen. Two phellinus sp. mushrooms are growing from the trunk, one visible from the front and one from the side. They have a velvety brown underside, the tops blending into the bark.

Trichaptum sp. growing on pine in Oaxaca, Mexico. Trichaptum looks like a polypore, but it's actually in the Hymenochaetales order, along with Phellinus and Rickenella!
