If you were a philosopher who would you be?
October 4, 2026 at 3:41 PM
If you wonder how we got here, here is the explanation:
It is not a matter of debate, it's pure logic.

Every person in the world should know this truth by Karl Popper, 20th century's most important philosopher.
But almost nobody does.

Please help spread this knowledge!

Coleridge is a complete philosopher. He has expressed opinions in all major areas of philosophy. But, oddly, for such an original mind, his philosophy isn't really all that original. His philosophical appetite is great but his philosophical digestion - not so great. (Wellek makes this point well.)

"The deep critical thinker has become the misfit of the world, this is not a coincidence.

To maintain order and control you must isolate the intellectual, the sage, the philosopher, the savant before their ideas awaken people." — Carl Jung

I Heard a "Term" that would confuse Many Christians, "Christian Atheist" For Me it isn't Hard, Someone that Accepts the Teachings of Christ as a Great Philosopher without accepting that He was the Son of God! Not Terribly Complicated!

Every now and then I read a philosopher and am frustraited at thier nievity of how different people can be from each other. An example of institutionalisation by thier own experience. Models are not people. People are werid and messy and have changing motives. Planet University needs some new blood

But psychoanalysis has taught that the dead—a dead parent, for example—can be more alive for us, more powerful, more scary, than the living. It is the question of ghosts.

Where to even begin. Anthropic wants to "apply centuries of human moral wisdom to its models, as rapidly as possible," via crash courses with hand-picked religious thinkers. Why was one of the Jewish representatives an Israeli scholar who's defended autonomous weapons for armies and police?

The wisdom of the crooked tree comes from Zhuangzi, the ancient Chinese philosopher whose writings shaped Daoism. In one of his most enduring parables, Zhuangzi described a massive tree with a gnarled trunk and branches so twisted that no carpenter could make use of it.

"philosopher and AI ethicist"
job descriptions reach a new low
"Henry Shevlin, a philosopher and AI ethicist at Google DeepMind, suggested that the AP was being hypocritical because it anthropomorphized none other than Optimus Prime" in a MOVIE REVIEW.

This is so far beyond stupid I don't have words for it.
