It's because people are being raised on the phone being the be all end all entertainment device...Even though actual mobile phone gaming has been doing its damnedness to destroy that world view. Granted...I'm in the "PC can almost do anything!" camp <_<. There's also dedicated handhelds w/ phoneOS

Old versions of Android aren't receiving security updates any longer. These projects deGoogle aspects of the phoneOS but still rely on Google to provide security updates for the Android releases. If the vendor doesn't supply updates and Google doesn't either, I'm not sure what these projects can do.

you can't disable adblock for those sites unless you go back out to safari (which you are technically already using!) and disable it fully. Its laborious and i just bail. browsing the web on a phoneOS has gotten so bad (especially with siloed off app links)
