Ahahaha so if I ground every component in the audio setup, the phono chain sounds pristine. But then there is a faint hum on the AV chain. If I un-ground the AV equipment, the hum disappears but a horrible buzz shows up on the phono chain.

I've been spending a stupid amount on new vinyl lately. But the world sucks and it really gives me a lot of joy to open a new record and have my first listen be on the phono. I can stream it 100 times after that. But the first listen is the one.

Finally got around to making a version of Music for Fish for @kulzae.bsky.social's sound egg world. I even ran all the songs through a cruddy record phono ampiflier before so it sounds like a vinyl record.

One for the music lovers: a few miles up the road from Friedberg is the spa town of Bad Nauheim, where we found this sign that once (presumably) belonged to a Hi-Fi shop.
