(in China, my pedestrian-crossing trick was holding a photobag in front, with outside cage/tripod-mount....nothing beats the threat of metal on metal, or even glass (headlights/windscreens)....:))

It's probably also lighter which might also be a plus. I rarely have a photobag which it too light. :-)

Yes, I still need to vacuum clean my photobag from that...

Moral of the story? If your seawatching in a chair under a photobag, and it sounds like it's starting to rain- check very, very carefully (!!)

A really bad day weather-wise, sthly gale all day. Cycling back to the station in a downpour was fun, kept telling myself "At least it's only water"
