#octoberhorrormoviechallenge Day 2: #maniac If you like movies about serial killers then this is a movie for you. Joe Spinell (who also wrote the script) plays a creepy, mentally disturbed serial killer & he plays the role so well that it's without a doubt his best role. There are also great gore effects by Tom Savini, who has a small role in the movie as well (his scene is pretty much the most well known scene from this movie 😜) A sequel was planned where the character this time became a Mr. Rogers-esque TV host who would go after abusive parents, making the character more of an antihero (the reason for it is because Spinell was very hurt by the accusations from film critics & women saying that the movie was misogynistic & promoted senseless violence, and he wanted to make up for these criticisms with the sequel) It would have been called Maniac 2: Mr. Robbie, they made a short promotional film, but it got cancelled after Joe Spinell passed away in 1989. There is a remake with Elijah Wood that wasn't too bad, but it wasn't as great as the original movie. #joespinell #carolinemunro #serialkiller #psychotic #williamlustig #scalped #bloodandgore #mannequins #tomsavini #headblownoff #photocamera #stabbed #slashermovie

This is literally one of the reasons for getting a (digital) photocamera (Olympus TG-7 iirc). My phone uses to make grass almost neon green and I could see where it was filling in details. And that was before chat bots and generative BS

For some reason I've got _two_ retrocameras now. 😋
#lego #retro #photocamera
Two cameras are visible. One's Lego, the other's not. Left camera is an old Nikon bought in the 90's. Right camera is a Lego Retro Camera. The old one got a (closed) round box with a roll in it (I've shaken it, it's got one in it!). The Lego one got an exposed (with 3 images) roll, Lego style. The Lego camera is about... say... 66% of the size of the real one. The details are fairly close actually. Got the exposure turn button, zoom button, roll lever. Even some thingy on top for an optional flash camera (hey, mabe I can assemble one myself Lego style!). You can even look through the viewfinder! Took me about a half hour to assemble. The Lego one, that is. I don't want to imagine how long the real one would take!

@veryroundbird.house they put you in endfield again
Screenshot of event from Endfield, titled "Carly's Fairytale of Wuling". Carly (a small girl with big round glasses and cat ears) is drawn in an ink painting manner on a paper cutout, lying on a red notebook with bamboo motifs. It's on a desk with a Wuling-themed postcard, a paper fan and a photocamera

I still call a photocamera a Kodak. That was accepted vernacular idiom all throughout my youth. But it would be a bit weird to call your phone that.

Just rewatching the Artemis II mission launch. That photographer running around in the quarantine area really bugs me! How freakin hard is it to wear your mask ABOVE your nose! I can't believe nobody called him out.
Video still from the PBS broadcast of the Artemis 2 Mission showing the astronauts Victor Glover and Reid Wiseman in armchairs getting their spacesuits checked by nasa assistants in preparation for their flight. On the front right of the image is a photographer walking around with a large photocamera wearing his ffp2 mask on the tip of his nose which leaves him enough space for unfiltered breathing. The time stamp is L -5:05:09, showing the time before launch.
