I'd visit the countryside too and practice using the language, talking to folks and making photographs.

Q4: If money or schedule was no barrier what event or what location / city would be you go to be creative this spring and why?

My photography classes keep me motivated at the moment. I love coming up with an idea and message I want to share and then thinking about how to say it visually.

Q3: As we move into nicer weather what do you do to motivate yourself to get out and be creative to take your camera out if you're in a slump?

Q2: Do you have any new equipment or new projects that you want to try out during this season?

In spring I love to visit the bushland around Perth and go orchid-hunting. We have many endemic native orchids here and they are very small and quite elusive.
You very much need a macro lens to capture them in any detail. 🪷

Q1: Do you take any photos or do any creative projects that represent springtime or capture the essence of spring?
Remember to include the hashtag in your answer so others can enjoy! Let’s go!

I don't have any shooting planned for the break, although I have 2 and a half weeks off work to do something.
A lot will depend on weather. If it's blazing hot I'll probably do more stuff at home like post-editing and building on my Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station series. Stay tuned!

External SSD for digital and film scans, then local RAID drive and a cloud service for backup. The RAID is pretty old, though, so I can't rely on it these days.
Negs are sleeved with notes on camera, date, location, and film stock.

I have a Plustek scanner for my 35mm negatives, which I picked up for a decent price secondhand.
For 120, I use the Lomo Digitaliza & a macro lens on my D750.
I've got a few places that I print with depending on the use case, whether basic bitch prints for contacts or better quality.

If you print do you use a service or do you have a darkroom?

Develop black and white negatives at home. My go-to is Ilford LC29 stand developing. It means I can shoot different ISO settings on the same roll and dev different film stocks in the same tank.
If the film doesn't like that, then I don't like the film. 😄
Rare C41 and E6 dev to labs.

Q1: If you are into film photography do you develop negatives yourself or do you send it out to a lab?
If you develop yourself, what is your go-to developer? If you send out to a lab then give your lab a shout out!

Marketing sounds like I have something to sell, which I do not.

Lightroom classic. I don't know if I'll ever find the time and energy to switch to another platform that is more affordable.

Also have my Ricoh 500g with a few rolls for more spontaneous/street photography.

I usually go to a certain place or event with the idea to shoot. To be there is planned, but the shots are not.
I'm learning to plan, though, as I'm becoming more drawn to using photography as a visual art medium, so I need to have an idea of what to shoot and how before I go.

I was always a Pentax user, had my Pentax ME for 25 years & got my dads Ricoh KR-something.
I picked up a Nikon FE2 recently and I'm a convert. I also have a D750 to lens share the AI MF ones.
Also love me some #Shittycamerachallenge gear, Holga, Lubitel 166U, Diana pinhole, Dacora.

A1. I'm Kym, and I first picked up a camera nearly 35 years ago.
I was lucky enough to do photography and darkroom at school for 5 years, in the 90s.
I like to photograph architecture, travel/street, formalist, marches/rallies and the beach.

I'm an enthusiastic amateur shooter and collector, trying to shift my energy over to shooting and developing after the collecting impulse got out of control. Stylistically I'm kind of a magpie, working to refine what it is I'm drawn to.

Q4: If you could only use one film stock for the entire summer, what would it be?
Q2: If you had to choose only one camera to take with you on a summer vacation what would it be and why?
