What about Pia Zadora’s duet with Jermaine Jackson from the 1984 film Voyage of the Rock Aliens? Good question! “When the Rain Begins to Fall” was a monster #1 hit… in Germany & the Netherlands. In the US, the single peaked at #54 on the #Billboard #Hot100. #PiaZadora #OneHitWondered

After the failure of her next film, 1983’s The Lonely Lady, Pia Zadora decided to shift her focus to music… and The Lonely Lady’s soundtrack gave Zadora her biggest US music moment: her cover of Shirley Ellis’s “The Clapping Song.” #ShirleyEllis #PiaZadora #OneHitWondered

Pia Zadora's film career… well, it's often defined by the 1981 film Butterfly. Yeah, she won a Golden Globe for New Star of the Year, but there were whispers that her husband ‘bought’ the award. She did win a Razzie Award for Worst Actress & Worst New Star, though #PiaZadora #OneHitWondered

I am now watching Voyage of the Rock Aliens. I’m surprised that this movie from 84 didn’t become a cult classic. How can you not love a rock musical with Pia Zadora and a very dreamy Craig Sheffer!

Pia Zadora kept recording through the ’80s, but never made it back onto the #Billboard #Top40… Interestingly enough, her previous single, “I’m in Love Again,” had been her first foray onto the pop chart in the US: it topped out at #45 on the US #Billboard #Hot100 in 1982. #PiaZadora #OneHitWondered
