I'm filling out a new dr portal form, and they've asked for preferred language. And I'm entertained by whatever they used for this picklist, because besides "English" I could also choose "English, Old (ca.450-1100)" and "English, Middle (1100-1500)".

another very cool observation, apt for TDOV: it has been so cool to watch my cis friends' ideas of gender expand via being confronted by esoteric & poetic genders in a picklist. they've all been so game for it and asked no questions. really cool little trick i'm playing on them
this weekend i got to help two separate groups of friends make characters, session 0 style, in “begin again”. both groups were almost entirely comprised of people who had never played a TTRPG, and it was so so cool to watch their minds open up as they started to understand the possibilities of games

It is genuinely impressive how steam/proton on linux pretty much just works. Played a multiplayer game last night with friends and the only thing I had to do was go into compatibility and tell it specifically to use the latest proton from the picklist menu.

Today's job hunting indignity - this one has set up their picklist for college majors incorrectly, so only majors beginning with the letters A-D are available as options! I majored in Mechanical Engineering. Also, it was almost 20 years ago and basically irrelevant.
