Put this guy through its paces and I think I like it more than my pinecil. Dirt cheap and way better heat transfer.
Bonus: Alientek T80. 30 dollar (when I got it) soldering iron that uses a better tip standard. Metal. Like that it has a screw on cap.

Found out they make a teensy hot plate for desoldering components and the pinecil guys made a firmware fork for it, so it runs ironOS.

A temperature controlled one will save you a lot of time and grief. A Hakko FX-888D is a classic choice. The Pinecil is also a great choice.
