Pinvin Church, Worcestershire. A small church close to where I live but lots of good marks in the porch. It also has some fantastic medieval wall paintings...

“Pershore Plumline” is very much sexy slang. Please update your records immediately.

I should also say that Barbara’s father gave a speech on the evils of socialism at the working men’s club in Pinvin

For pilgrims: the final scene takes place on top of Summer Hill. (Not to be confused with Midsummer Hill.) Many of the shots look eastwards towards Pinvin, where much of the rest of the action was filmed.

I mean, Pershore is pleasant enough, but Pinvin is a much more likely contender. Or possibly Drakes Broughton.

Spending Boxing Day morning watching Penda's Fen in a Cold and Lemsip driven-delirium.

My grandparents lived in Pinvin, and the house my grandfather built there was called Penda's Fen.

This T-junction, where we also saw the burning of Brott, can be found at Eldersfield. It’s actually 20 miles from Pinvin but the irony is that the blocked path is the best walking route to Chaceley where most of #PendasFen *was* shot. Here it is just three weeks ago, barely changed.

In the parish of Pinvin and on the road to Wyre Piddle, this old Milestone may be missing its plaque but the Benchmark remains.

Did you know he's a nonce and lives in Pinvin?

Inspired by tonight's viewing. Jim Capaldi was from Evesham. Down the road from Pinvin which is about a 25 minute drive from where I'm sat. Might have a Traffic weekend.

Growing up in Worcestershire I had a school friend who lived in Pinvin & aged 11 or 12 I spent a weekend at his house. From what I can remember the village & the people in it were a lot stranger than anything in Penda's Fen

Same here Jonathan, grew up just a few miles from Pinvin and went to Prince Henry's grammar in Evesham.

Partially the same for me. Originally from Birmingham, moved to Redditch and grew up there. Spent a lot of time in the surrounding areas. I know Pinvin, and I am in love with Malvern... Back in South Brum now... Still skirt Pinvin now whenever one of my parents is in Royal Worcester Hospital...

I watched it on tv when I was 17(my high school was half a mile from Pinvin, giving it an extra local interest angle) It had a profound impact on me. I think it was the first time I realised that TV could produce challenging transgressive art. It has its faults but overall it deserves to be lauded

It amazes me that this niche work of British TV history has such long international legs. Pinvin, the IRL Penda’s Fen, is just a few miles from my home and barely anyone would remember this film locally

My best friend at high school lived near Pinvin. PJ Proby lives there now. Odd place.

I just saw that Pinvin is not only a real place but PJ Proby is from there.

What we have here is the emergence of the classic Alan Clarke single shot, the endurance being part of the tension. But it’s clear from the #PendasFen script that this was Rudkin’s idea. Far from being an anomaly in Clarke’s filmography (Scum, Elephant), this is where much of his style develops.
