Pionus are such sweet birds! Definitely much lower on the murder-meter than most of their cousins.
I actually have a (rare) quite non-destructive, quiet macaw, which is quite amazing. She does play with toys but she's pretty chill and isn't a chainsaw

We’re saying goodbye to the River of Doubt and the Brazilian Amazon. The last week has been memorable, as we worked hard to land some unique and interesting wildlife encounters.
The highlight for me had to be the spectacle of hundreds of parrots arriving at the waterfall to feed one morning.

Dummy eggs are en route in case she decides to get it into her head that she wants to make more of them. Threatening to turn them into omelettes does not seem to have put her off.
