To illustrate, today I had a piece of basbousa that was generously topped with almonds and pistachios, and that truly is the platonic ideal of a sweet treat to me.
I really don't have a sweet tooth and some of my favourite things to get as a trick-or-treater were like...hazelnuts 😅 walnuts too. I liked having to smash them open. You need to understand that I am very peasant-coded. My soul hasn't caught up to the advent of refined sugar.
