i use a combo of PixelChat and Streamer Bot. MixItUp also has overlays, including a Twitch chat box, iirc.

I use pixelchat! I really enjoy it because it's at the bottom of my screen and is always available, no matter what device your on! Captions through OBS, or extensions may not appear on all devices. Even on my ipad I can't get captions with the obs method!

Ooooh! I use pixelchat bc that's the only thing that's like semi reliably picked up my accent? Tbf though that's even been getting shite recently so I'd super love to try out the widget you're talking about if it does allow for simultaneous open and closed! 🤯💖

I use the rat-with-a-compiler plugin for solo streams, never heard of pixelchat, but I'm going to look into it, thanks!

I'm curious about this, because it would take mental load off me to keep PixelChat in check. I'm also looking into VDONinja captioning, but this may be an alternative. 👀

Any streamer pals (especially brits!) got any recommendations for live captions? I have been using pixelchat but it seems to be really struggling the last couple of streams for no reason I can discern.

I use the OBS plug-in for myself and the PixelChat for group settings, but I am looking into VDONinja captioning for the latter. It's not ideal with my accent, but better than nothing.

Also, assuming nothing implodes, I have set up Kia with text-to-speech properly, and fed it into PixelChat.
So I'll be able to hear her and she'll be able to see my captions as we explore the game!

I tried them today. The obs plugin that enables the Twitch ones were terrible, didn't get a single word right. Pixelchat picks what I say pretty well, but I don't know if they're readable enough. I have black font over dark pink background. Is it better to do white font over black background?
