*I am not, alas, joking. The oxidation reaction that makes boiled linseed oil such a nice plasticizer and waterproofer for leather and wood is exothermic. Sometimes it is violently exothermic. Rags used to apply linseed oil have been known to start house fires.

Smol experimental pouch phase one: construction done. Phase 2 involves cutting cardboard to hold it in shape and then wetting it liberally with boiled linseed oil and letting it dry. Linseed oil is a natural plasticizer and either will cause it to spontaneously combust* or to stiffen and waterproof.

This was all I got doodled tonight and it was a stru-ggle. The grip on my tablet pen feels like its oozing plasticizer and I have to stop drawing to rub it off constantly.
Caved and ordered a replacement grip.

Gotta say, the TPU Material of new jets toys are well worth the price 👌 it’s lighter, springier, shiny without sticking to skin, and you don’t need to add plasticizer! I recommend this if you’re wanting to get a new squeak!

I was 45 when I found out that all of the consumer products we sold at my one true perfect job had brutal amounts of lead as a plasticizer. Cheap plastic.... lead....yup
