It's not merely foolish or comical, it is against the law to discuss classified matters (war plans!) on non-classified, non-government platforms. It's also a national security risk. This platform could well have been compromised by foreign intelligence services or by others at home or abroad.

I've known @jeffjarvis.bsky.social for almost 25 years and the reason I've always respected him is that it is a genuine risk to his career and status for him to plainly say the truth on this kind of platform. And it has impact that he does so.

Not because the users want an adults-only platform specifically. But because normal adults don't want to keep running into barriers in communicating with other normal adults about whatever they want without risk of being unnecessarily censored by the platform. Which includes fetish material.
