I made a North East culture starter pack a while ago and add to it when I can. It includes musicians, writers, venues, creators, playrights, journalists, actors and those who celebrate and shed light on our vibrant cultural scene.

In the early 1950s, Head of Musicals at MGM, Arthur Freed, came up with an idea for a musical based on songs written by himself. He brought in Broadway playrights Betty Comden and Adolph Green to write a script, calling it Singin’ In The Rain after one of Freed’s songs.

The Kennedy Center should be avoided during this administration. If the people stop going and playrights won't present their art then it become's a self solving problem.

Walter Benjamin, The Origins of German Tragic Drama (1928). Benjamin’s habilitation thesis, turned down as incomprehensible. At the same time T.S. Eliot was changing how people read literature by paying close attention to contemporary
Jacobean playrights so there’s a European cultural logic at work.

Also a huge thanks to @pierstorday.bsky.social who ran workshops for all of us aspiring playrights! I didn’t think I could write a play, least of all because I’m not sure how you spell playwrite but here we go. Perhaps I’m a… playwright?

The reason "nobody understands the black box internals of LLMs" is because there's no there there. If a milion monkeys typing 17 hours a day might be able to produce a few lines of Shakespeare by accident doesn't mean they're playrights. It means somebody has paid for a million moneys to type a lot.

1)May have to link to articles, but off the top of my head Homer, Milton, and Jose Luis Borges were all blind. Probably too many major depressives playrights like Eugene O'Neill or Tennessee Williams, possibly Hemingway, lots of self medication. Capote and Dostoevsky were epileptics. And a number of

To be clear, I’m ok with this if we revoke all intellectual property rights entirely.

If one industry doesn’t have to respect it, no industry does. Copyright, playrights, trademarks, patents, &c. All of it goes.

Ms Jansing made a colossal error today in speaking on how it has been a 100years since Congress, I recall she pharsed it this way-
placed contempt on witnesses.

During the McCarthy Hearings-not a 100 yrs ago not only charged Contempt of Congress but JAILED many.

On the other hand, comedians and playrights may have a field day with them, at least until audiences boo them off the stage for reminding them of this monstrosity.

fun quote from the 1910s between to playrights "Dear Swede: Here's your half of last week's swag." swede means sweetie in this situation as well

We are going to need lots and lots of Lexapro before this is all over.
Our best playrights are going to need to write the allegories and perform the plays at the Kennedy Center infront of the President. He will applaude until it is explained to him.
"Antigone" anyone?

Story for our times. We on the left have failed society. Where are our story tellers. I recall angry playrights and brilliantly sarcastic TV shows . World has changed but we didn't adapt. We grew soft.

Writers, playrights, authors, are all very similar in so many ways to songwriters, lyricists & composers.
I have had a book published, I have written a comedy play (done nothing with it) & write poetry.
Pictures & words are so much better with music though. Imagine a horror film without the score!

First, he was just an actor. He got from playrights some scripts, I remember in the eightys. Mid80ies Neoliberalism coming up. For stock reasons AT&T fired 30.000 at once. The exchange rates skyrocketet again highest niveau
