Apple 'Wareham Russet'. Quite a rare variety this one. Was once grown en masse in Weaverham, Cheshire, but nearly died out after WWII. Just one tree remained, but more have been grafted since.

A late ripener with good flavour and texture.

Apple 'Winter Gem'. An October picker, these are still under-ripe. We've got a decent crop on our #allotment cordon this year, I'm looking forward to sampling these in a month or so.

Apple 'Nutmeg Pippin'. There are 2 entries in the NFC database, 1 has the preferred name 'Cockle Pippin'. Time and ripening will tell which one I'm likely to have here.

Lovely russeting. Hope it tastes as good as it looks.

Apple 'Knobby Russet'. Just the one this year, sadly came off the tree (a new-ish cordon) long before it was ripe, so haven't had a chance to try it for flavour yet.

I'm really not sure it's meant to be quite this knobby though... might have a dose of scab?
