Micro build log: PocketHook now takes 10 files/message.

The carousel was the easy part.

The real work: server-side limits, idempotent upload IDs, thumbnails, ETags, and HEAD requests—because “attach more files” is apparently a distributed systems feature wearing a paperclip.

If Apple approves it — always a thrilling plot twist — multi-server support is coming in PocketHook 1.4.

Personal server. Work server. Questionable lab server.

One PocketHook. Multiple Janes.

Setup is much faster with Agent Server 0.8.0.

Run `bun run app:qr`, scan the invitation and PocketHook configures the connection securely.

Invitations expire after five minutes, work once and contain a temporary code—not your actual credentials.

PocketHook 1.4 is available now.

It started as a “quick update” and ended with multiple servers, QR pairing, per-server appearance, safer Shortcuts routing and enough settings to qualify as property management.

Here’s what changed:

One server, manual or QR setup, appearance customization and local photo-library links are free.

Multiple saved servers are included with PocketHook Pro: one $14.99 purchase, no subscription.

Shortcuts and the Share Sheet can target a server.

Existing automations stay attached to their original destination. If that server disappears, PocketHook won’t silently send content elsewhere.

A surprisingly useful feature called “not sending data to the wrong place.”

PocketHook already has too many models and tools. The obvious solution is another model.

Jev could classify each task, then route it to the cheapest model or the right tool—without asking a frontier LLM whether “open Safari” is hard.

Waiting for Jev access at https://typesafe.ai and already imagining 1,000 ways to wire it into PocketHook.

Typed decisions, fast routing, fewer “ask the giant model everything” round trips.

Please let me in before I redesign the entire server around it.

PocketHook 1.4 was supposed to be a quick update.

It has now become the sort of release where the changelog needs its own changelog.

At some point, “while I’m here…” stopped being a sentence and became the entire development strategy.

HTTP 302: “just send the Authorization header over here too.”

PocketHook: no.

Authenticated downloads only send credentials to the configured upload origin, and redirects are rejected. Trust belongs to an origin, not wherever the response points next.

PocketHook 1.3 is out. Not just an app update: I shipped the iOS app, Agent Server 0.7.0 and SDK 0.1.3 as one coordinated stack. Because apparently “let my phone talk to my own infrastructure” needed three release pipelines. Sensible weekend planning.

On iOS, PocketHook can now take text, links, images and PDFs from the Share Sheet, attach files or camera shots in chat, render attachments inline, open app deep links, and browse your photo library through local pockethook:// links.

Results stick around until the app saves and acknowledges them. Interrupted side effects are not blindly replayed. Exactly-once execution across another app is still fiction, so PocketHook refuses to pretend otherwise.
September 12, 2026 at 7:47 PM
PocketHook Agent Server now exposes Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, Music, Pages, Numbers, Keynote and Maps as actual tools.

Not “here’s how you could do it.” Real actions in real Apple apps, through Apple Bridge, with permissions for each capability.

PocketHook 1.3 is on its way to Apple for review.

We’ve done our part. Now we wait to see whether App Review takes hours, days, or enters a different dimension where time has no meaning.
September 11, 2026 at 12:37 PM
Apple Watch complication:
tap Shortcut
tap Run
confirm you did, in fact, mean the thing you just tapped

Peak wrist computing.

PocketHook needs a native one-tap action instead. Apparently removing a tap is now a product feature.

Adding multiple chats to PocketHook sounds obvious—until each chat becomes a goldfish with its own context. I want separate workspaces for navigation, not separate assistants with selective amnesia. One Jane, many views. Memory stays shared.
August 23, 2026 at 12:56 PM
PocketHook could have a hundred integrations and twice as many features out of the box.

It won’t.

I want the smallest useful foundation possible, so every user can build their own agent—not inherit my idea of what an assistant should be.

Your iPhone supports iOS 26 but not Apple Intelligence. Cool. PocketHook lets you connect it to your own AI backend instead.

Your server, your model, real actions on your iPhone. No hardware upsell required.

PocketHook 1.2 shipped yesterday. I’m already knee-deep in 1.3, adding more ways to get things into the app.

Apparently “taking a break after launch” didn’t make the roadmap.

PocketHook 1.2 was approved in under 24 hours.

Apparently App Review had places to be.

This is our biggest update yet. Here’s what changed:

There are also new commands for setup and maintenance: help, configuration, Safari installation and Safari status.

PocketHook Agent Server remains free, open source and self-hosted:

And yes, there’s the usual pile of stability and performance work—the glamorous part of shipping software that people only notice when you skip it.

PocketHook Agent Server 0.6.0 is out.

This release gives your self-hosted agent a real Safari tool, cheaper internal helpers, safer recovery and support for the latest models.

Still your server. Now with fewer excuses.
