With the next comic taking over a month to finish, the message in my last comic has taken on some unwanted irony ...

Luckily I have only one more page (of 8!) to finish and I am confident I can get it done within #poetrycomicsmonth.

In the Way.
A quick four page Poem/Comic for #PoetryComicsMonth ! Which I didn’t know existed til today 👀
IN THE WAY - catsi_nook It was in the way the water fell from high, onto pruning palms. The way the tiles grew little mirrored beads reflecting one another. The way it couldn’t wash away anything, really. Because in the way are things. Heavy things. Sometimes there and often not but sometimes there a lot. Its in the way they sit, in the road, dark and obstructive and looming. Under a single streetlight for some reason. In the way are my eyelids, tired and heavy. In the way mist lays so low I can’t see my feet on the ground. And so I am lifted away, above myself. The way back is thick and dense. In the way running in a dream feels. It’s in the way I speak, teasingly. But not in a fun way. Mumbling. Double glazed windows in the way of distant traffic. The water fell from high, and my body was in the way of the tiles, but also not. Because of the way the heavy things shook me three inches out of place. Out of the pool of streetlight on their dark road, watching myself in the way a cat watches a piece of string. It’s in the way I’m watched. Looked at. Not looked at. Just one bead of water, reflecting another. I’m screaming internally. Be here! Be here in the way wind is here, disruptive and wild and encouraging and unapologetic. Be in the way!
