Some days, although we cannot pray, a prayer
utters itself. So, a woman will lift
her head from the sieve of her hands and stare
at the minims sung by a tree, a sudden gift.

I've always been a bit thick regarding poetry. Never really "got" it. And yet here I am, listening to #poetryplease crying my eyes out at a poem called "Armada." Maybe I get it after all, I just needed the right poem.

I was delighted to hear Addlestrop read on #Radio4 's #PoetryPlease, just now, although Edward Thomas’s depiction of peaceful inactivity was quite misplaced, as I reveal in my short story “It Was Late June,” to be found in “Moments of Consequence” amzn.to/4jiJgk9 free on (#KindleUnlimited)
Moments of Consequence: short stories
A collection of short stories: comedies, tragedies and histories. What is the true value of an old tea pot? What happened on an uneventful day in Gloucestershire? Has anyone stopped to look at a monum...

Anyone want to have a go at RFK-ifying some classic poetry?

Pam Ayres - “oh I wish I’d looked after my queef”

Dylan Thomas - “Do not go genital into that good night”

Lewis Carol - “Jabbercocky”
