Also from the Zurich trip: Here's my old friend the Polybahn (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polybahn) as seen from the back of the Hotel Limmathof. My memories of writing the first Spider-Man novel are full of the sound of these good creatures toodling up and down the hill.

And there are buses—a lot of them. They have signal priority on major streets. Most are electric: check out these bi-articulated trolley buses going under the Polybahn tracks.

Status report, "Photos from a Road Trip" con'td: Here's a hotel I remember with fondness, as I wrote a large portion of a Spider-Man novel there (back-facing room, with a view of the Polybahn running up the hill to the Uni). A choice spot. Many runs to the Co-Op across the river for junk food. 😏
