man I've seen this claim on the internet that the polyrhythms on the rite of spring were "plagiarized" from traditional polyrhythmic songs of the Éwé people from west africa, and I can't find anything that corroborates to that other than "the Ewe were doing polyrhythms first"

Because it's polyrhythmic, doesn't it mean the individual instruments play different time signatures simultaneously? Supposedly, Jimmy plays in 3/4 time during the verses, but I'm unsure about Bonzo. I'm pretty clueless. I'm so bad at counting beats. 😁 I just know that this tune is a masterpiece! 🙌
