Heute vor 50 Jahren: Der 17. November ist in #Griechenland ein bedeutsamer Tag. Er erinnert an den 1973 niedergeschlagenen Aufstand der Studierenden und Arbeiter*innen am Polytechnikum in Athen, sowie in Thessaloniki, Patras und Ioannina, während der faschistischen #Militärdiktatur.

What may look like urban decay or neighborhood neglect..is not..Its what is still left of old Athens before foreign capital washes it all away...and the locals like it and create around it

On #November_17th, 1973, armed forces invade the Engineer School of Athens, which was squatted by students against the #dictatorship. 40 dead and at least 2000 injured students and civilians. Today, the Greek government is compromised by ministers who claim these events never happened.
