I’m at #pombe2025 with the small but mighty international fission yeast community talking about everything from heterochromatin to membrane fusion to lateral gene transfer. This is such a great community. Thanks to @drpombe.bsky.social and colleagues for putting this together!

I just wanted to give a brief update on plans for the 12th International Fission Yeasts Meeting (AKA Pombe2025), which will take place August 3-8 at Boston College in Boston Massachusetts USA. The tentative program can be found here:

Pombe2025 registration will go live this week. We hope you can join us August 3-8 in Boston. We will provide computers to allow international attendees to leave their phones and laptops at home.

We are very happy to announce that #Yeast is launching a new special issue on the International Yeast Meetings of 2025: #ICYGMB32, #pombe2025 and #ISSY38. The deadline for abstract submission is 30th September 2025. Hurry up!!!

We modified the Pombe2025 schedule to make it easier for people to arrive on Sunday rather than Saturday. The 3 Sunday keynote talks will be given Monday AM, so people can arrive later on Sunday without missing talks. Therefore, Sunday will only be devoted to registration and an evening reception.

Pombe2025-We are extending the deadline for abstract submission for Pombe2025 to end-of-day July 3rd. There will be no further extension after that so we can get the Abstract book printed and delivered before the meeting starts. Please do not wait until the last minute to do this.

The Pombe2025 abstract submission deadline is June 27.  We need this to have enough time to send abstracts out for review by the session chairs and then to finish editing the Abstract Book in time for printing.

pombe2025 (part 3)- pombe2025 t-shirts will be $20 each. We will modify the registration website so you can pre-order a t-shirt or you can get one at the meeting. If you pre-order, we can guarantee we will have one in your size. If buying at BC, let Maeve know what size you plan to get.

Pombe2025 (part2)-The 2 Monday AM platform sessions displaced by the Keynote talks will replace poster sessions 2 and 4, since we expect fewer posters compared to requests for talks. Registration closes July 10th. Abstract submission closes June 27th. Posters can be 48" wide x 36" tall.
