Our brain decided this was the best way to survive repeated, systemic, & generational trauma. And even though we've found ourselves in a safe home now... that trauma doesn't just *poof* disappear. Nor does the wiring that was set in place to survive it.

No ironing or anything! I'm blessed with good hair genetics, just that it took years to figure out how to style it and I was just letting it poof out for years. 😭 If it means anything this is genuinely crazy amounts of layering to make the waves do anything nice.
