The title loosely translates to "white reggae," reflecting the album's signature sound, which fused rock, punk, and reggae into a distinct style. Sting has described the album as "where it all clicked" for the band, highlighting the strong musical synchronicity between him, Andy Summers, and Stewart Copeland. It's #372 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
