something Must Be Done about the portability of SRAM formats between emulators

a decade ago it felt weird that valve was investing so much into linux portability but it's gonna pay off so well

Portability UP!

With all the talk of waffles, this seems a good time to repost this. Short version - account portability exists.

Yeah dude, I love software written entirely in assembly. So good for portability.
Must sound so cool if you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

Data portability <works>

(when it works..)
I ditched Spotify a few days ago and switched to Tidal and HOLY SHIT it is so much better

I was able to transfer all my data/playlists from Spotify and now I have everything in higher sound quality

BUT the real gains are

1) Artists with integrity have way bigger catalogs on Tidal

2) MUSIC VIDEOS

downsides of other platforms:
psychological manipulation via algorithms
openly fascist leadership
lack of portability/walled gardens
user hostile design
no jerry

downsides of bluesky:
the CEO refuses to smite my enemies

Shooting the Fifa World Cup with a 1950s film camera, aiming to create a 1954 aesthetic.

- Miles from @expiredfilmclub.

- A vintage Zeiss Ikon folding film camera. It uses the 120 format film and features a bellows system that collapses for portability.

Lens - "Novar-Anastigmat"

The problem with #rstats is portability. Shit like `df$x` has to be converted to `df€x` in Europe and `df£x` in the UK but nobody talks about this.

Bought a Steam Deck, loving it's portability :)

Because I know some of y’all still aren’t putting this together..

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act = “HIPAA”
Do not.
And I mean do not upload any personal PHI or PII to any Trump lead applications.

Granted, it ranks lowly for portability, but gravy makes for an otherwise excellent sandwich filling.

My bluesky handle includes a handle (@Neilhimself) and my website (neilgaiman.com) and it self-verifies. Here are your instructions: bsky.social/about/blog/4...

We should legislate identity portability for email addresses.

We have it for phone numbers, where the technical challenge was much greater. We should have it for email, too.

💡 Tip: You can set your website as your username on Bluesky!

This is one form of self-verification, and we especially encourage official organizations and brands to do this! Examples include @npr.org @react.dev @duolingobrasil.com.br.

Here's our guide for how to do this:

I've been playing kingdom hearts on gameboy advance on the subway, then when I get home I pop it in my gameboy player on my gamecube and continue my progress. It feels so efficient and seamless for tech from 2003. Why does no current technology feel this way despite portability being so achievable

Let me guess:

"Sell across state lines!"

"Patient-centric healthcare!"

"Portability!"

Or, if you want to go REALLY old school: "Tort reform!"
Mike Johnson on the Republican healthcare plan: "We've got notebooks full of ideas."
