An analog black-and-white photograph portraying my wife Elisa in a portrait that consciously evokes the style of vintage studio photography and retro aesthetics. Elisa stands against a heavy fabric backdrop, intentionally left with visible creases and soft folds, which give the scene a theatrical, almost timeless character. The light creates distinct, carefully planned shadows behind her figure, adding depth and strengthening the mood of the image. Elisa is wearing a light, flowing dress with a fitted bodice and a full skirt. Her bare shoulders are framed by soft, puffed sleeves adorned with gathers and decorative details. One hand rests gently on the upper part of her chest, while the other falls along the dress, lightly holding the fabric. Her gestures are delicate and natural, yet they also carry something of a classical portrait pose. Her dark hair falls softly to her shoulders and stands in clear contrast to the light dress and her face. Elisa looks directly into the lens. Her gaze is calm, attentive, and deeply personal, without a forced smile, carrying a subtle sense of closeness between the model and the photographer. The slightly grainy texture of the analog image, the soft tonal transitions, and the imperfections of the backdrop enhance the impression of a photograph from another era. This is a portrait in which retro style is only the form, while what matters most is my feeling for the person standing in front of my camera.

Analog portrait of my wife, Elisa, made among tall, freely growing vegetation. The colour palette is deliberately subdued, almost monochromatic, with cool greens fading into greys and muted creamy tones. The colours evoke old, slightly faded photographic prints and give the image a distinctly vintage character. Elisa is sitting among grasses and small wildflowers, with her dress spread widely around her. The light-coloured polka-dot dress, fitted at the top and widening toward the bottom, strongly recalls feminine fashion of the 1950s. Delicate lace gloves further emphasize the styling and reinforce the retro aesthetic. Her dark hair falls softly over her shoulders. Her arms are extended in front of her, with her hands resting close together among the plants. Elisa’s eyes are gently closed, and there is a faint, almost imperceptible smile on her face. She appears calm, as if for a moment she has withdrawn from the surrounding world. Her bright figure and the pattern of the dress emerge from a very dark background that seems almost to absorb the light. Dense greenery, deep shadows and the slight imperfections of the analogue image create a contrast with the delicacy of her presence. For me, this is not simply a stylized retro portrait. Photographing Elisa, I once again allowed personal emotions and feelings to enter the frame. The calmness of her gesture, her closed eyes and the surrounding nature make the photograph quiet, intimate and deeply personal.
