Nah, they just added features to their scalers on the software side that let it do useful things like Time Base Correction to compensate for drop outs in the tape, which most capture cards won't be able to handle without audio desync, plus some postpro options that help common vhs artifacts

Tbh, no one has ever really given me a good reason why a condenser mic is necessary for this at all, because most of the work is in postpro or position anyways

Estoy terminando las fotos de la boda y la verdad estoy bastante contenta con el resultado. He aprendido mucho de esta experiencia nueva, aunque necesito más y técnicamente aprender alguna cosilla que me salve de cagadas que tenga que arreglar después en postpro pero contenta

Estoy terminando las fotos de la boda y la verdad estoy bastante contenta con el resultado. He aprendido mucho de esta experiencia nueva, aunque necesito más y técnicamente aprender alguna cosilla que me salve de cagadas que tenga que arreglar después en postpro pero contenta

Yes! It’s very similar to a film camera shot. There’s no AI/ML/postpro stuff, so no artifacts, no fake HDR, etc. You just get a RAW shot. That also means you have to be more cognizant of lighting, but I’m happy to make that sacrifice. Plus you can always edit it yourself later
