Found this stunning Potinara Showcase ‘SVO’ x Laeliocattleya Tokyo Magic ‘6-1’ AM/AOS at the last CSNJC meeting. This was in bloom in the greenhouse for one of the AOS judges.

🤣 Potinara = Brassavola, Cattleya, Laelia and Sophronitis orchid cross.

The person who made and registered the plant gets to name it. In this case after someone they knew. (No connection to me).

In garden type things: our Potinara Paradise Beauty 'Marcela' has at least 2 flower spikes on the way for fall (I think we'll actually have 4) and we discovered the hummingbirds are also appreciating the agastache in the front yard! 🌱

You told me as such yourself in person at Birdfair some years ago. While you edited your trip report to remove any mention of Giorgos's name, here he is in your advertorial (page 9) for the tour back in 2013. (A decade before you deigned to be a #BSBICorporateSponsor.)

The most fragrant orchid I have
The fragrant orchids I have include cymbidium, Potinara (supposed to be fragrant but I can’t smell it), zygopetalum, dendrobium, and oncostele. I don’t have a good sense of smell and can only smell these if I put my nose right up to them. This Miltoniopsis is by far the most fragrant, especially in the mornings. She smells like lemongrass. It permeates the entire room and seriously hits you in the face even though some of the flowers haven’t opened up yet. I love it and you can’t tell by the picture but the flowers are ginormous. by Virtual-Character1
