Democrats really need to be pre-planning sweeping anti-corruption, government accountability, institution-strengthening, and democracy-protecting reforms for immediate implementation in 2029. This kind of stuff is happening every day and cannot be happening at all.
At the risk of stating the obvious, there functionally are no laws that bind the president in a system where the they can get away with violating the law for months or years before a court gets around to saying “you can’t do that.”
For the last seven months straight, the U.S. government has refused to process immigrant visas for nationals of 75 countries around the world; including visas for spouses of U.S. citizens.

That's my conclusion after this lengthy discussion. Really low trust of tech billionaires and their cronyism with politicians makes it a vector for pre-existing concerns about affordability and corruption.

I am heavily involved in my local Democratic Party and corruption is a huge concern for most ppl. My nephew voted for the first time ever because he was so appalled by this admin’s corruption. There are multiple pre-election polls that found corruption is the most important issue for respondents.
