I'm not here to tell anyone how to parent, but my 11 year old finished 10% of precalculus this morning, because the alternative was cleaning her room. I think we could get a unified field theory if I asked her to mow the lawn, but unfortunately it's snowing today.

in fact i think the main thing i would do differently is recommend some youtube channels and Stroud for general purpose review, since one assumes an autodidact is either very rusty or never learned high school math. i would also cut precalculus. i do not believe in precalculus

Ok so the world is actively falling apart and my mom has cancer and I’m terrified 23+ hours of the day (lol I’m counting nightmares), but fucking A I spent 20+ hours on math this weekend and got a 93 on my first precalculus quiz and I feel like throwing a GALA

Nostalgia can be an incredibly beautiful and powerful feeling. It can come from a song, a movie, a place, or even just a smell. Unfortunately, relearning Trigonometry at 43 years old for my Precalculus class is not giving me any nostalgia.
