It is, in fact, pretty darned bigoted to assert that asking whether you have had a baby in NICU is homophobic! Where has this dude been for the last decade? Gay fathers with preemies in the NICU isn't an everyday occurrence here in Cali, but it isn't even newsworthy any more. Geez.

Skin-to-skin contact is one of the best-proven things you can do for preemies. It steadies their breathing, heart rate and temperature. Giving dads a way to hold the most fragile babies is innovation that actually helps families.

Plus it’s proven to have multiple benefits for preemies. I had a 29 weeker. I was lucky I could do a few minutes skin to skin a day.

Both my kiddos were preemies and I while they were not in the incubators for long, I would have felt much safer with this than the O2 tubes that keep getting clawed off the facw.
