And most RCTs focus on literacy in elementary schools where there are larger gains to be had by helping students learn the alphabet, phonics, and core preliteracy skills.

I agree with much of the concern in this thread, but in many ways this feels like a return to something less alien than preliteracy—it's the same approach to media that I see when I visit my silent gen dad and he's watching "whatever happens to be on tv" instead of something he chose to do.
Jesus Christ this is the most chilling thing I've read in ages. The "new understanding of truth" described here is not new in any way, it is basically a return to pre-literate dark ages & the inevitable result is going to be fascism.
