the printhead one is having fun mystery problems so that's unfortunately still in the diagnosis state, which is my least favorite part.

Don’t buy the eufyMake E1 UV Printer. Mine worked great until a mandatory firmware update, followed by complete color loss, printhead failure, ink leaks, excessive ink consumption, and mechanical noises, while numerous other owners report similar failures.

Watching with a camera so it can react in real time if something goes wrong (base detaches, printhead gets clogged, etc), or modifying the output as it goes, streaming gcode direct based on what it sees?
Super cool either way.

Meanwhile, the DT printhead seems to print fine w/o issues, so I'm trying out printing directly to t-shirt and onto film transfer.

Not bad for about $1.05 ($1 for the slate coaster and $0.05 for the UV ink). I'm excluding the cost of the printer, which I'll probably never break even on. 😅

Only downside is there's some banding, but tech support thinks it's a bad printhead and is sending me a replacement.

Found a large pigment based printer last month for like $20 and lately been trying to fix the printhead. Last week did nothing except move and probably weaken the clog. But yesterday, a much stronger chemical and loads of heating finally pulled it loose. Now to focus on the waste ink tank lol.

Most 3D printers move their printhead with belts and pulleys, but a startup called Tesseract is bringing linear motors to desktop 3D printing. Linear motors offer faster, more precise movement without the vibration or stretch that comes with belts. The technology has been used in industrial machines for years but is now making its way to consumer printers. https://www.3dnatives.com/en/startup3d-tesseract-technologies-en-17092026/ #3Dprint #3Dprinting #Consumer
