Bruce Harrell was cruising to an unopposed re-election campaign until he and his corporate backers sent every Seattle voter a mailer prominently featuring his opposition to Prop1A for social housing. It showed the city that he was working against our values AND that his endorsement carried no juice.
Hot damn. Katie Wilson crosses the 50% threshold. If we had runoff-cutoff elections in Seattle, Bruce Harrell would be done; as it is, he's at a bruised 41.7 percent with not a whole lot of ballots left to count.

Lol it’s kind of perfect that the one artist who can actually afford to live in Seattle is dead set on making sure none of the rest of us can. Vote yes on Prop1A.
This is already out of date, as Amazon just dropped $100K to support Prop 1B. Also, famed Seattle Glass artist Dale Chihuly and his wife also donated $2k to the campaign. Meanwhile, Prop 1A raised almost $15k, including 40 new donors:

Huge props to all of our comrades who worked on the #Prop1A campaign. Hours upon hours working with @houseourneighbors.bsky.social on canvassing, phone banking, postering, and more led to a monumental WIN for the people of Seattle. Billion dollar corps can't buy the people's vote.

My ballot was delivered seconds ago on a SUNDAY! The USPS guy said we were accidentally skipped yesterday. They are making a special delivery today to get us our ballots! Thank you USPS! Yes on Seattle Prop1A and for Seattle school levies, props 1 & 2! Fund social housing and public schools!

Prop1A creates a new tax on the wealthy which will generate an additional 2000+ units of affordable housing in 10 years, while Prop 1B diverts $10 million a year (for only five years) from the existing Jumpstart payroll tax, taking it away from other affordable housing builders and community orgs
