We kept being told that journalism was a bulwark against fascism, a "fourth estate". This is the liberal frame for perceiving the industry's worth. But the reality is the polar opposite: fascism has been allowed to thrive, and could not have done so, without journalism.

All police are subject to rules about their social media posts - there's nothing new about a copper getting spoken to about posting rhetoric.

What people have missed in that story is who told the ABC about it? It's a minor internal disciplinary matter.

Who leaked it to the media? And why?

Of course, why would the media remind you that there can only be ONE winner?

Why would the media not polarise the debate, it creates eyeballs

Why would the media not spend time truly helping people develop a winning vision?
