The photo shows the front end of a propeller plane mounted to a wall. The plane is painted with green, white, and red stripes, and the propeller blades are black. There's a mural on the wall behind the plane that shows it flying over a mountain. A stuffed animal that looks like a hyena is sitting in the plane's nose.

I don't do reference studies very often, but when I do they're a gift for my father 🥰⭐

I love getting lost in the details, #digitalpainting is so satisfying! Referenced a photo he captured at an #AirForce Boneyard. "Sentimental Journey"

#digitalart #plane #aviation #aircraft #art #propellerplane

A detailed digital painting of a small propeller airforce plane turned three-quarter in composition, with a shiny steel exterior and black propellers with yellow tips. There's a pin up girl decal in a blue one piece and blonde perm, with cursive red lettering that says "Sentimental Journey". The tip of the plane has a transparent cap for where the artillery shooter would sit. It's a bright and cloudless mid-summer Arizona day, the runway pavement white hot. A small strip of grass can be seen off in the distance past the runway.

These photos give me a haunting sensation of being caught on the wrong side of a dangerous and life altering situation. There is a dream like anxiety in the separation of the fence and the plane.
