When I teach the history of the ancient and medieval book, I reliably make it to the 15th century. But with Medieval Latin surveys, I rarely go past the 12th. Way too much good stuff earlier and way too much Scholastic gobbledygook later. (US based.) #earlymedievalist #prosestyle
