When put in perspective of home care, #CDPAP growth is only 3.7%. This dramatically changes conversation on upending care for 250,000 older & disabled NYers.

@kathyhochul.bsky.social insistence on moving 280k older & disabled folks to PPL despite all evidence it's a bad idea has smelled funny since Day 1. How's she pick a company in April before budget was done & then say all was above board? Now we know.

@govkathyhochul.bsky.social says she's giving PPL #CDPAP to "protect home care users & caregivers." But CDPAP's built on Dignity of Risk, ending ableist tropes that PWD need protection from able-bodied. Consumers see her "protection" more like that from the mob - take it or else.

NY Legislators are at home in their districts. But budget work is still happening and the travesty that is PPL is still moving forward. Call them in their district offices this week to #StopPPL. #SaveCDPAP and #ProtectHomeCare

It is #NationalAccessibilityBarriersDay. Here's to celebrating Public Partnerships, LLC (PPL) and their ability to make #CDPAP, a program by and for disabled folks, a beacon of inaccessibility throughout NY.

@votejgr.bsky.social makes a great point. @govkathyhochul.bsky.social sold her #CDPAP boondoggle on 1200% growth. But economists say home care, counting CDPAP, grew at 3.7% - equal to aging growth.

#PublicPartnershipsLLC, the private equity & union-busting backed group @govkathyhochul.bsky.social wants to give NY's #CDPAP home care to, is complaining they had 1,000 people call them on Day 1. Their transition timetable requires they take about 12,500 calls per day every day.

NY’s home care system is at risk. Hochul’s CDPAP overhaul replaced local organizations with one contractor, raising concerns about payment delays, disruptions, and loss of local support.

The main reason to oppose this disastrous restructuring of CDPAP is 1000s of older & disabled NYers losing life saving home care, & home care workers losing pay. But also true that this was a corrupt deal from the start between #KathyHochul and PPL.

Study by @nyfiscalpolicy.bsky.social finds @govkathyhochul.bsky.social claims #CDPAP growth was 1200% based on selective reading of data. Combined w/ ALL home care, growth is consistent with NY's aging pop at 3.7%. 1196.3% error justifies change for 750k NYers. #ProtectHomeCare
