the like four people who care about homebrew and modding PS4s in 2026 are finally happy
i say 4 people because theres genuinely nothing in the PS4/PS5 era (or Xbox One/Series era) that isn't just 10x easier and better to do on PC rather than the real hardware

sony this is my decree: indefinitely delay the PS6 if you know what's good for you. everyone's getting priced out of that shit anyway, you know the absolute insane PR you would get if you pivoted to "let's make good games for the consoles people already have"

BEAUTIFUL 20 Spoke OEM Midnight Gray with Red Stripe Forged Aluminum Wheels off my 2023 Stingray. 19” front 20” rear with Michelin PS4S tires. These wheels and tires only have a couple of thousand miles on them, no burnouts or track time, and are in EXCELLENT condition

In the brief time I’ve used a ps5 I’ve really dislike the changes they made, feels like a worse, more bloated version of the ps4s. I definitely have a soft spot for that simple, clean XMB bar the psp and ps3 used

There are so many existing games that I would never be able to play them all even in a long retirement. So why buy anything new given the expense and big tech highjacking ownership? There are games going back to the 80s and 90s like the Ultimas I want to play as well as tons of PS2/PS3/PS4s ones.

Are you sure? I can still play my PS3 games cause I have my disks. And people with PS4s can still play the games they have downloaded on their consoles. Maybe there is smth I don’t know about how modern consoles operate?

Is it yours forever though? If GOG removes it from their website or entire GOG goes down and you don’t have a copy - you are shit out of luck.
And having a local copy isn’t unique to PC. Plenty of people still have PT on their PS4s.

cleaning and repasting PS4s is so fucking satisfying for this reason. my Pro went from the loudest console I've ever had to the absolute dead quietest (SSD swap helped an amount too)

I think 'save the industry' refers simply to the assumed influx of new players that are finally leaving their Xbox 360s or PS4s with their old copies of GTA 5, finally buying a current-gen console, and presumably looking around for other current games to buy now that they have the hardware for it.
