“Transitional lumbosacral anatomy with partial sacralization of L5 with right-sided pseudoarthrosis. Minimal multilevel retrolisthesis from L1-L2 through L4-L5 and extension only.”

Nutritional optimization is vital before spine surgery. BMI>35→↑comps. Wt loss<30 kg/m²→↓risk. Malnutrition in 33% lumb sx pts→↑infct, ↑LOS, ↑mortality. Alb<3.5 g/dL, PreAlb<20 mg/dL→↓healing. Protein (Arg/Omega-3)→↓complications. Smoking↑pseudoarthrosis, infct, reop. Quit 4-6mo preop→↓risk.
