God, I miss moments like that. There’s something about being surprised by psychelocks that you can’t get anywhere else.

Alt: a black cat with a red scarf around its neck is loafed, with its tail swaying idly.

#AceAttorney has many liars! But only one avoided the #psychelocks . #MattEngarde impacted me greatly; to me, he's the definition of a #twistvillain . Besides being the first guilty client in Phoenix's career. For these feats, he was chosen to be in #BigWhopperLiarDay 🤥 @aceattorney.capcomusa.com

Out of the original Ace Attorney trilogy, every game has a fatal flaw
1. No profiles or psychelocks yet, basically just hasn't fully matured the gameplay yet
2. Turnabout Big Top exists
3. The weird forced pop culture references that aged badly, Grossberg's hemorrhoids, the weird homophobia

RIGHTTT To me ace attorney ended on a cliffhanger ending because we still don't know what caused the black psychelocks to pop out when analyzing Kristoph, but before we got an answer to that the game shifted its focus to hundreds of Apollo's dads 🥴

it feels like they came up with the game mechanic before the story and had to make it work which is crazy because psychelocks are right there.
