whoah:

Psychro- comes from the Greek psȳchrós, meaning “cold.” It comes from the Greek psȳ́chein meaning "to blow.” This verb is also the source of the word psykter, an ancient Greek vessel for cooling wine. The verb is also ultimately the source of such words as psyche and psychology.

🐬 This #Greek psykter (a vase for cooling wine) with hoplites mounted on dolphins makes my day!

🧊 The 6 dolphins would have seemed to leap & dive as the psykter bobbed in the ice water inside a large krater.

Why don't we make items like this anymore❓

The red-figure psykter by Douris in the British Museum made quite the impression on me when I was a naive undergraduate studying at the Institute of Archaeology nearby... definitely NSFW.

Hecaterus is the demi-god of the hecateris, a rustic dance of quickly moving hands. He is the father of the Dactys & the Hecaterides. His mother might be Gaia.
