I've gonna do something about public broadcasting in other countries. We should not compare/contrast CBC with PBS - just totally different contexts, arguably the latter is no longer a pubcaster.
Need to talk about BBC, ARD, France Televisions, RTE, ABC... I need to learn more about KBS, NHK...

Part the issue with the CBC is the execs usually come from the Canadians private broadcasters that have traditionally got rich by leeching off American culture - and aren't always super self-aware about it. Wouldn't be the end of the world to hire someone from a foreign pubcaster sometime.

I'm so mixed on Chapelle. On one hand after a mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio, he put together an all-star benefit show within a few weeks. He's just been in the news for getting pubcaster WYSO, Yellow Springs, OH new studios in a historic building he owns. Then there all the parts that aren't good
