the thing that’s been painfully obvious for years is that unchecked capital accumulation paired with gutting the social safety net and public goods was going to lead to commerce without customers. an economy built on consumption when no one has money to consume.
Its starting.

the golden era of public internet discourse was actually a failure of efficient capital allocation. as capital allocation becomes more efficient, public discourse will inevitably become barren of value

Capital demands that:
1. The government must strip away sensible rules which prevent businesses from attacking the public good.
2. The government must constrain *itself* with insanely restrictive pledges, such as Rachel Reeves's fiscal rules.
3. Protesters challenging capital must be locked up.

I didn’t think Eric Adams (allegedly) stealing $10m in public funds was bad until I realized it’s the equivalent of jumping the subway turnstiles (capital offense) 3.4 million times.

NO, NYC PUBLIC LIBRARIES ARE NOT "FULLY FUNDED" despite what the influencers on social media are regurgitating. Our libraries remain UNDER-FUNDED. Library workers need to be paid MORE MONEY, we need more funds for collections, we need more funds for programming & for capital expenses.
We'll be continuing to demand that @mayor.nyc.gov deliver on his promise to fund our local public libraries at 0.5% of the city expense budget this fall. If you're interested in being in the fight, you should join @nycplan.org.
