An avid worshipper asked Centzon Totochtin to grant him a teooctli, the ‘divine pulque.’
However, he failed to realize that these rabbits are not only gods of pulque, but also of fertility!

I really like pulque and I wish it was easier to get in the US! It’s fermented agave sap - slightly fizzy, slightly vinegary, a bit viscous (kinda like kombucha) that’s about as alcoholic as a lighter beer.

I love pulque - a lowish-alcohol fermented agave sap beverage that Mesoamericans have been drinking for millennia.
I don’t like beer much, but I can knock this stuff back all day.

And finally, my other favorite thing: mango sorbet flavored with lime rind and topped with crispy roasted cacao beans, sitting in a bowl of pulque - central Mexico’s beloved slightly sweet, slightly fizzy beverage made from fermented agave sap.
