Beautiful day in Seattle yesterday, except for the large pyrocumulus cloud rising beyond the Columbia Center Bldg on the right. That is the Little Giant fire burning near Lake Wenatchee

Wow. What an incredible view of the Cottonwood Fire yesterday evening.

…diverse tipologie (e stadi) di nubi convettive:

1. Convective Plume (simile a un cumulo Castellano)
2. Pyrocumulus (simile ad un cumulo congesto)
3. Resilinent Pyrocumulus (più sviluppato e dutaturo)
4. Pyrocumulonibus (massimo stadio, come un temporale).

A cumulus trifecta in SE Michigan today: cumulus, altocumulus, and cirrocumulus. Just missing cumulonimbus and pyrocumulus.

A #stunning pyrocumulus cloud billowing thousands of feet above Washington's Sourdough Fire on August 4, 2023. The awe-inspiring result of an unfortunate event (a lightning strike.)🔥

An interesting, if unfortunate, sight flying over Montana yesterday on the way home. Apparently a big wildfire sending plumes of smoke skyward. As it reaches high enough, the cold upper air causes the rising smoke to form pyrocumulus and pyrocumulonimbus clouds. #Wx

Saw the first pyrocumulus cloud of my life last night, over Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, from Botany Bay on Vancouver Island. Our plans to camp at Cowichan Lake yesterday got aborted because a big wildfire erupted northwest of us, bringing an AQI spike of 250. Life in the Pyrocene!

Whoa. My sis just sent me this - a pyrocumulus eruption above a fire 50km away.
