American Wintergreen - not to be confused with the other plant called Wintergreen. This and other Pyrola species are lovely woodland wildflowers. #americanwintergreen #pyrolaamericana #nativeplants #wyomingcounty #wny

#Wildflower time!
I got really lucky and found a rare and super sweet patch of #PyrolaAmericana. American Wintergreen, but NOT the famous bush with red minty-flavored berries of the same name. Totally different plant.
Only about 6 inches tall. Sweet and pretty. #Hiking #NewYork 🌸
